WHAT WILL COME OF IT ALL

My good friend
Dean Heine
And I
Bellied-up to the bar
In an East Village dive
On Avenue A.
My wife
Soon to be ex-
Had just left
To go back
To Pennsylvania
And I wasn’t too sure
I saw any point
In carrying on.
“What’s going to happen?”
I asked Dean.
“Well,” he said,
“There will be good times
And bad. Periods of
Peace, followed by
Periods of war,
Hot and cold,
Darkness and
Light.”
